Harry and Meghan Exposed for Owing Over $80,000 in Unpaid Charity Debt

Despite earning millions from lucrative media deals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been accused of leaving behind more than $80,000 USD (over 2 billion VND) in unpaid charity debts â and the revelation has caused outrage across the UK.
According to reports from British media, the coupleâs former charity, The Royal Sussex Foundation, still owes money even though Harry and Meghan have since established a new foundation and profited handsomely from multimillion-dollar contracts.

Official documents released on September 1 show that the coupleâs previous charity â now renamed MWX Foundation â has yet to repay $108,000 USD to a non-profit organization, even as the liquidation process continues.
In 2020, the creditor, whose identity has not been disclosed, demanded repayment of $293,000 USD. Financial filings reveal that while $185,000 USD has been reimbursed, the remaining balance remains unsettled.
When Prince Harry dissolved the charity last year, he publicly promised that all debts would be paid off within twelve months. However, delays reportedly stemmed from a Charity Commission investigation into whether $209,000 USD transferred from MWX to the sustainable travel organization Travalyst had been used appropriately. The inquiry, concluded in May, found no wrongdoing.

MWXâs official liquidator, Adam Stephens, confirmed:
âWe received a valid claim totaling $293,000 USD from a creditor connected to a grant to a non-profit. A partial payment of $185,000 USD has already been made. The charity has sufficient funds to settle the outstanding amount, which will be paid soon.â
Following Harry and Meghanâs official departure from royal duties and the loss of their HRH titles in April 2020, the Sussex Royal Foundation was forced to rebrand as MWX. The current filings show that Meghan and five other directors resigned on July 1, 2020, leaving Prince Harry as the sole director.

By the end of that year, the Sussexes had launched their new charitable venture, Archewell Foundation, inspired by their son Archie. The Archewell brand has since expanded into television and audio production, with the couple aiming to transform it into a globally recognized empire.
