Just when viewers thought Landman had shown them everything it had, this happened.
Just when viewers thought Landman had shown them everything it had, this happened. In a moment that feels absurd on paperâbut somehow even more shocking on screenâBilly Bob Thorntonâs character makes a decision so brazen it instantly set social media buzzing: hiring a stripper to pose as a physical therapist⌠for Sam Elliott. At first, it plays like dark comedy. A raised eyebrow. An uneasy laugh. Then the scene stretches. The awkwardness deepens. And suddenly viewers arenât sure whether theyâre supposed to be laughingâor staring in disbelief. Thatâs when Landman flips the switch. What couldâve been a throwaway gag turns into something far more revealing about power, masculinity, and how far these characters are willing to go to get what they want. Some fans are calling it outrageous and hilarious. Others say itâs another example of the show deliberately pushing buttons just to see what happens next. Either way, it worked. Clips spread fast. Comment sections lit up. And once again, Landman proved it isnât interested in playing it safeâor predictable. Love it or hate it, this is the scene everyoneâs talking about
Billy Bob Thornton takes a unique approach to fixing his fatherâs ailments in the latest episode of Landman.
After T.L. (Sam Elliott) fell and was stranded in the pool, Tommy (Thornton) came up with an unorthodox way to help his 82-year-old dad â he stopped by a strip club.
He found Cheyenne (Francesca Xuereb), a performer at Rickâs Cabaret, counting up tips and ran an interesting business proposal by her. Describing T.L., Tommy said, âHeâs 82 years old, and heâs ate-up with arthritis and all kinds of injuries, and he can barely get from one end of the couch to the other. Now, I figure, in your line of work, you probably got to stay pretty limber, right?â
Cheyenne said sheâs in the gym âthree hours a day,â which was just what Tommy wanted to hear, as he said, âSo, essentially, youâre your own physical therapist.â
He then pulled out a wad of $100 bills, offered them to her, and asked, âCould you help my dad? Just show him some of your stretches to get him stronger?â
The deal would involve âno sex,â Tommy clarified, and she wouldnât âhave to wear high heels and a G-string or any of that,â but Cheyenne was confused as to why he wouldnât just hire a real physical therapist.
âWell, because my pop is as stubborn as a jack mule, but he canât say no to a pretty woman.â
Cheyenne eventually agreed to help T.L. â who she said âlooks sadâ but âseems sweetâ after Tommy showed her a photo of him with Angela (Ali Larter) and Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) â for an hour twice a week.
âItâs a little odd, but itâs innocent,â Tommy admitted to the agreement. âAnd you can do it with your clothes on.â
Though Cheyenne said she likes âtaking off my clothes,â and that certainly wasnât an idea Tommy was against. âYou can do it naked, I donât give a sâ.â

The episode ended with Cheyenneâs first visit to T.L., and they did aquatherapy in the pool â he floated while she held onto him. âEverything feels better,â he told her. âKnees, hips â everything.â
He wasnât sure what the rundown of their agreement was, and when he asked, she said, âT.L., I could do this all day,â and he said, âYou have been, darling.â
