While an official Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 premiere date has yet to be revealed, we’re hoping (especially with an early 2026 release) that the series can return with new episodes in 2027. With the exception of Season 4, Netflix released The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1 through Season 3 a year apart from each other. So here’s hoping the series returns to that method. The Lincoln Lawyer will pick up some time after Season 4’s finale and continue to follow the personal and professional lives of Mickey and his loved ones after Mickey’s taxing trial. But beyond a new case, Mickey will also be navigating life without Legal and life with his Cobie Smulders’ character, who claimed she was his sister right before the finale ended.

In an interview with ScreenRant, The Lincoln Lawyer‘s co-showrunner and co-creator Ted Humphrey shared what fans can expect from Smulders’ character in Season 5 and what her presence means for Mickey. “We’ve knocked this guy for a loop professionally, now let’s knock him personally, and make him question everything about who he is or what he thought he knew about himself,” Humphrey said. “First of all, who is this [new character]? Is she even telling the truth? If she is, what does that mean? And also why now? Why come to him now at this moment? I will tell you there is an answer to that, and it will form the basis of the way we unravel all this and the story that we tell in Season 5.”
