Maya’s father has shared a hopeful update about her recovery journey.
After some healing of the incision on her head, Maya has started sitting in her chair again — a moment that has brought encouragement to her family and those following her story.
Doctors are gradually adjusting her EVD to help regulate the fluid around her brain, and today Maya has shown a little more responsiveness. She has been able to squeeze the neurosurgeon’s hand on request and track more with her eyes — small but meaningful signs of progress.
Her mother also created simple “YES” and “NO” paddles to help communicate with Maya right now. Even these small moments of connection mean everything to her family.
We continue to send our deepest respect, love, and prayers to Maya and her family.
Our hope, like so many others, is to see Maya continue to grow stronger and recover step by step.
