“I WAS NEVER PROTECTED.” Meghan Markle’s Latest Claim Sparks Outrage Across Britain! 🇬🇧🛑
Meghan Markle Publicly Names Princess Kate, Makes Explosive Claims About the Royal Family and Says She Was Driven Into Depression
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a series of explosive allegations against the British Royal Family during their highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, revealing what they described as long-hidden tensions behind palace walls.
The interview, broadcast on 7 March, marked the couple’s most direct and personal account of the events surrounding their decision to step back from royal duties — a crisis that would later become known as “Megxit”.
Naming Kate on global television

One of the most controversial moments came when Meghan directly named Catherine, Princess of Wales, in relation to a long-rumoured disagreement ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry.
Asked by Oprah Winfrey about reports that Meghan had made Kate cry during an argument over bridesmaid dresses, the Duchess of Sussex immediately rejected that version of events.
“No,” Meghan said. “The reverse happened.”
Meghan claimed it was Kate who had upset her, leaving her in tears shortly before the wedding. According to her account, the disagreement centred on fittings for the flower-girl dresses, including those worn by Princess Charlotte.
Although Meghan acknowledged that Kate later apologised and sent flowers, she said she remained deeply hurt by the way the story had been reported in the media, insisting that the narrative had been reversed — turning her from a victim into a villain.
Allegations of pressure and silence
Meghan went on to describe what she characterised as increasing pressure from within the Royal Family after she married Harry.
She said that while she was initially welcomed, the situation deteriorated over time, leaving her feeling controlled, isolated and effectively silenced.
According to Meghan, she was discouraged from speaking out or seeking help, creating what she described as a sense of being “trapped” within the institution.
Mental health struggles and pregnancy
In one of the most emotional parts of the interview, Meghan said she suffered from severe depression while pregnant with her son, Archie.
She told Oprah that she experienced suicidal thoughts, describing moments when she felt that ending her life might be “better for everyone”.
“I was really ashamed to say it at the time,” Meghan said, breaking down in tears.
“I was really scared because I could see how much pain my husband was in.”
Meghan also alleged that members of Harry’s family had expressed concern about how dark Archie’s skin might be before he was born — a claim she described as deeply hurtful and racist, particularly given her vulnerable state during pregnancy.
Harry on family breakdown
Prince Harry supported his wife’s account and revealed that his relationship with his father, then Prince Charles, had severely deteriorated following their decision to step back from royal roles in early 2020.
Harry claimed that his father stopped taking his calls during that period, describing it as a form of “silence” that further reinforced the couple’s sense of abandonment.
