“Meghan Markle was a completely different person when she showed her cheerful personality in a 2013 talk-show interview that has recently resurfaced, but when facing the royal family, she put on a different face that made everyone exclaim, ‘Oh, she is truly…’ Below is the full interview explaining why she acted that way.”

A 2013 talk show interview with Meghan Markle, 44, has resurfaced, with viewers marvelling at her bubbly personality.

12 years ago the then-actress appeared on Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show to promote her series Suits, which at the time she was two years into.

She was also newly single, and in the process of separating from her first husband, producer Trevor Engelson. Three years later she would meet Prince Harry and go on to marry into, and then exit, the Royal Family.

Nowadays she can be found flaunting her homemaker skills and serene, cookie-cutter family life on Netflix, but in 2013 Meghan showed off a very different side on screen.

Wowing in a backless black mini dress, the future Duchess of Sussex told host Craig: ‘I got all dolled up for you,’ before launching into an upbeat conversation about her studies at Northwestern to her previous jobs at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires.

During the segment, which has been reshared on Craig’s Instagram account, Meghan talked about her father, Thomas Markle, telling Craig he was ‘a DP’ – the acronym for ‘director of photography’.

Craig’s reaction caused her to stop in the middle of her sentence, before realizing she had used a technical term and adding after a few giggles: ‘I didn’t mean to make it sound so industry.’

Fans were left shocked by the ‘young & giggly’ rising star with one deciding ‘this is the real Meghan’.

Meghan’s most recent TV project is her Netflix Christmas special, With Love, Meghan – Holiday Celebration which is now streaming.

During the special, the Duchess of Sussex tells an American chef how to make crackers and reveals she puts a love letter inside the one she makes for Prince Harry in the new episode.

But reviews in the likes of the Washington Post, Irish Times and Sky News Australia have been as brutal as many were for the first two series of With Love, Meghan.

It comes after the show was derided in the UK press – getting zero stars in the Daily Mail, one in the Telegraph and Independent and two in the Guardian and Standard.

The first series of With Love, Meghan launched in March, coinciding with the unveiling of the Duchess’s As Ever brand, which sells products including raspberry jam and flower sprinkles, which she repeatedly promotes throughout the show.

Meanwhile Meghan’s estranged father Thomas Markle was last night moved from the intensive care unit into a regular hospital room.

Mr Markle, 81, who had his left leg amputated below the knee last Wednesday, has pleased doctors in the Philippines with his r

His surgeon Dr Neil Sanico, who spoke to the Daily Mail with Mr Markle’s permission said: ‘The surgery was a success and the wound is healing well. Mr Markle is making good progress. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him but moving out of the ICU and into a regular room is a positive step.’

Dr Sanico amputated Mr Markle’s foot and lower leg during a three-hour operation after a massive blood clot cut off circulation to the limb.

‘There was no option but amputation,’ he said.

‘The clot was so large we could not risk removing it first and then having the infection from the foot spread around his body and cause sepsis. There was a danger of gangrene setting in.

‘He has a long road ahead of him but I am pleased with the way he came through surgery and the positive attitude he has shown since. He is a strong and brave man.’

There has been some confusion about whether Meghan and Prince Harry have reached out to him.

While he has yet to hear from them a spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said the duchess emailed her father on Friday.

Unfortunately the email address used is one he no longer uses or has access to.

Mr Markle became estranged from Meghan, who lived with him from the age of 11 to 18, after he posed for paparazzi pictures on the eve of her 2018 wedding.
