She’s Just Getting Started! Leanne Morgan Teases a Deeper, Wilder Season 2 for Her Hit Netflix Series — “Big Dreams Are Coming!”
Leanne Morgan, star of Netflix’s new sitcom co-created with comedy legend Chuck Lorre, says she’s eager to continue following Leanne’s journey in a potential second season. Developed by Lorre, Susan McMartin, and Morgan herself, the series tells the story of a middle-aged woman whose life is upended by an unexpected divorce after 33 years of marriage.

Across its 16-episode first season, viewers watched Leanne navigate heartbreak, lean on her family and sister, and take a brave leap into new love with boyfriend Andrew. Speaking to TV Insider, Morgan shared her hopes: “Yes, I hope the show gets a second season. Whether it’s about romance or work, she’s spent her whole life taking care of everyone else. Now I want audiences to see what happens when she finally starts putting herself first.”

Co-stars are rooting for a return
Kristen Johnston — who plays Leanne’s sister Carol — echoed the excitement about a continuation: “This first season was really just setting everything up. If we get a second, I think there will be some really big payoffs, even some twists we’ve been hearing whispers about.”
Johnston even teased the possibility of crossovers with Chuck Lorre’s other sitcoms, including Mom and The Big Bang Theory: “Jaime Pressly was basically built for this show. Honestly, any of the Mom gals or Big Bang crew would be amazing.”

Executive producer Nick Bakay revealed that plenty of unused ideas from Season 1 could be mined further, but emphasized that the creative team prefers flexibility over rigid planning: “We let the story lead us. If you map out everything too far ahead, you lose the surprises.” Chuck Lorre agrees, noting that creative freedom is what keeps a sitcom alive and fresh.

Season 2 promises: freedom, surprises, and bigger dreams
Though Netflix has not yet officially renewed the series, both the cast and creative team are prepared to return with a season that both continues Leanne’s story and pushes it in bold new directions. Audiences could see Leanne — now finally living for herself — face brand-new challenges, unexpected romances, and maybe even guest appearances from stars of Lorre’s other iconic shows.
Leanne is now streaming on Netflix in the U.S. If greenlit, Season 2 promises to be richer, funnier, and more unpredictable than ever — just as Morgan says: “Big dreams are coming!”
