Meghan Markle to ‘write a book in 2026’ but fans will be left disappointed The royals will hope the Duchess of Sussex sticks to her lifestyle brand next year to avoid a repeat of Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir

The Duchess of Sussex has been tipped to put her experiences within the royal family to paper ever since quitting the UK almost six years ago. Her husband Prince Harry sent shockwaves through the monarchy with his memoir Spare, which was released in January 2023.

It included bombshell claims, especially about Prince William and Queen Camilla. The ructions caused by the book have never fully healed but former royal butler Grant Harrold believes it is unlikely Meghan, 44, will follow suit.

Speaking on behalf of AceOdds, Mr Harrold said fans hoping for more juicy royal gossip will be lefty disappointed. He said: “I believe Meghan will write a book in 2026, however I don’t think it will be the memoir many of her fans are hoping for.

“While she’s led a really interesting life and has many stories to tell, I don’t think she will want to share them at this point. She’s shared her stories and experience in interviews, however I’m not sure we’ll see a longer, tell-all book.
“However I think we’ll likely see something that fits with her new lifestyle branding, maybe a cook book or a written version of her Netflix show sharing tips and tricks.”

Mr Harrold reckons the royal family will hope Meghan “continues her work in the lifestyle sphere”. Her Netflix show With Love, Meghan is also tipped to return in 2026 with AceOdds offering odds of just 1/4 for a third series to be commissioned.
Mr Harrold said it was what Meghan is “passionate about and she’s made a real mark”. He added: “Plus, it can’t really do much harm – and especially nothing like Harry did with his memoir.”
However, she is expected to branch out with a chat show mooted as a possibility, Mr Harrold said: “Meghan has placed herself firmly in the foodie and lifestyle place and I think she’ll be looking to build and grow in this area in 2026.

“I think we’ll likely see something focusing on spring or Easter as we kick off the year – similar to what she has done for Christmas with her festive special. I would imagine this would be through her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, however it’s had mixed reviews so she may want to try something new.
“I imagine she would love to host a chat show, and I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibilities. I think her podcast series set out her passion for interviewing people and hearing their stories, but again, it received mixed reviews.”
