Meghan Markle sat down with Harperâs Bazaar for an interview, which sent a shock through the royal-watching world.
There were a few moments in the interview that caught the attention of Jane Barr, author of From Berkshire to Buckingham, but there was one that stood out to her particularly: how Meghan described her husband, Prince Harry, which came across as childlike.
In her Substack, Barr wrote, âI found her description of her husband to be truly bizarre and not a little sad.â It comes after Meghan’s shocking real role in Harry’s estrangement from his family was exposed.
Based on what Meghan had said in the interview, Harry could have easily been confused with their 6-year-old son, Prince Archie.
Barr explained, âMeghanâs description of Harry focuses solely on how he loves her, and, apparently, how much he likes to âplay and have fun.â She could be describing Archie. Meghanâs description does not describe an impressive, adult man.â

If you havenât seen the interview just yet, here is the passage that Barr is referring to where Meghan speaks to the Harper’s Bazaar reporter about her relationship with Harry:
âHe loves me so boldly, fully, and he also has a different perspective because he sees media that I wouldnât.”
âNo one in the world loves me more than him, so I know heâs always going to make sure that he has my back.â
With Harry, Meghan explains, âyou have someone who just has this childlike wonder and playfulness. I was so drawn to that, and he brought that out in me. Thatâs translated into every part of our life. Even in business, I want us to play and have fun and explore and be creative.â
Harry and Meghan come across as the dynamic duo, attached at each otherâs hips and have each otherâs backs, but based on the interview, it now comes across as one-sided.
Barr was so taken aback by the description that she wrote out how she would describe her husband.
The royal writer wrote, âIf I were to describe my husband to a major media outlet, I would say, âbrilliant, strong, professionally aggressive (a huge virtue in a trial lawyer), and, of course, loving and gentle toward me.ââ
She added, âI would describe a man.â
âMeghanâs description of Harry focuses solely on how he loves her, and, apparently, how much he likes to âplay and have fun,ââ Barr said.
âShe could be describing Archie. Meghanâs description does not describe an impressive, adult man.â
