After months of speculation, the hit series has officially confirmed its third season, with filming now officially under way on the upcoming set of episodes.

Joining season 3 alongside regulars such as Jack O’Connell, Sofia Boutella and Dominic West will be Grantchester‘s Lorne MacFadyen as Reverend Fraser McLusky. The cast also includes Devotion‘s Nick Hargrove, Brassic‘s Andrew Dawson, and Jake Jarratt.

Returning to the fold are Theo Barklem-Biggs as Reg Seekings, Corin Silva as Jim Almonds, Jacob Ifan as Pat Riley, Jacob McCarthy as Johnny Cooper, Stuart Campbell as Bill Fraser, Bobby Schofield as Dave Kershaw, and Jack Barton as John Tonkin.

The new episodes take place in summer 1944, as Paddy Mayne and his team “have parachuted deep behind enemy lines and must destroy and disrupt the mighty German army as they continue to repel the Allied advances”.

However, the SAS and French Resistance “once again face seemingly unsurmountable challenges, as the liberation of Western Europe begins”.

“Series three picks up as the war enters a critical phase with the allies mobilising to liberate France,” Knight teased. “Way ahead of the advancing front line the SAS are doing what they do best, creating chaos and carnage among the defending axis troops.
