The film, which was released in 1995, continues to captivate viewers with its stellar cast of A-list actors.

Despite the film being recognised for departing from historical accuracy, it has earned considerable acclaim.
The picture featured a stellar ensemble cast, including Succession’s Brian Cox, Alien’s John Hurt, Pulp Fiction star Tim Roth, American Horror Story icon Jessica Lange.
Jason Flemyng, Line of Duty and Outlander: Blood of My Blood’s Brian McCardie, Andrew Keir, Madam Secretary’s Eric Stoltz also appeared.

Hurt and Roth’s menacing portrayals as Montrose and Cunningham respectively garnered significant acclaim. One viewer commented: “This is a villain you love to loathe. The Roth character is so foppish that he appears somewhat effeminate; but this is merely disguise as he’s actually a ruthless master swordsman. Surely this is one of film’s top villains ever.”
Another fan remarked: “Cunningham(Tim Roth) is an amazing villain and character in this story. Brutally cold and if you watch his face he seems to be able to turn his eyes off and look completely evil.”
