“She’s not coming home.” During a deeply personal on-air update, Savannah Guthrie became visibly emotional while sharing heartbreaking news in the search for her mother, Nancy.n
The search for Nancy Guthrie has entered its most agonising chapter yet — and her family’s pain is now impossible to hide.
As a reported ransom deadline passed with no answers, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings released another urgent video appeal, describing themselves as being “at an hour of desperation” as the desperate hunt for their mother continues.
Fighting back tears, the Today show star spoke directly to the public, pleading for help from anyone, anywhere, who might hold even the smallest clue.
“We believe our mom is still out there,” Savannah said.
“Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home. She was taken — and we don’t know where.”
Her voice trembled as she asked viewers not only for prayers, but for action.
“No matter where you are — even if you’re far from Tucson — if you see anything, hear anything, or notice something that seems strange, please report it.”:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(749x0:751x2)/savannah-guthrie-nancy-022426-2-3521c938acfc4d458e5cbb01cafa723a.jpg)
A Family Running Out of Time
Nancy Guthrie, 84, vanished from her Arizona home on January 31. Just days later, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office declared the case a crime after what they described as “concerning evidence” was found at the scene.
Despite weeks of investigation, authorities have yet to name a suspect or person of interest — a silence that has only deepened the family’s anguish.
The FBI has since offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy’s recovery or the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
“We Will Pay” — A Desperate Promise
Over the weekend, Savannah appeared in another heartbreaking video alongside her siblings, Cameron and Annie, addressing whoever may be holding their mother.
“We received your message, and we understand,” she said.
“We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us — and we will pay.”
Authorities have confirmed they are investigating a ransom note demanding payment in bitcoin, while also warning that a separate, fake ransom message led to an arrest.
FBI officials condemned anyone attempting to exploit the family’s suffering.
“That individual was a total imposter,” one agent said.
“Someone trying to profit from unimaginable pain.”
